  • Stratdate-conf

There is now a special tool written in python to help you configure stratdate. With version 12112005, you will need stratdate-conf to configure stratdate. This is because of the some the syntax changes in the option file. Also, this should cut down on the volume of emails I have received where the problem involved the incorrect setup of the configuration file. Enjoy! :-)

  • Time

Well, the school year is drawing to a close and I find myself with more and more time to maintain my projects. This includes stratdate. Expect more versions here shortly. Hopefully, I will finish the rewrite very quickly. Thank you all for your continued support :)

This problem is fixed... +--------------------------+ Tue Dec 06 16:38 EST 2005 testing/12062005/stratdate: Created A new testing release. This release is nessesary to fully support the seamless usage in slamd64. As there is a change to the configuration file, please, as always, read the notes.txt file! testing/12062005/notes.txt: Created PLEASE read this if you are upgrading from an older stratdate release. There has been a configuration file change. PLEASE READ!!! stratdate-dev/functions/rsync: Patched I have now removed the requirement that slackware-current be appended to the LPATH. This is for increased compatability with slamd64. +--------------------------+ Tue Oct 25 21:03 EST 2005 stratdate-dev/functions/upgrade: Created The upgrade function has begun but has not been finished due to the fact that I have to learn how to properly use BASH arrays. testing/10252005/stratdate: Created I have created this testing version to use the new rsync function's ability for multiple excludes. Should work identicly to BETA 2.1. testing/10252005/notes.txt: Created I merely added this to alert users it is safe to use multiple includes now. stratdate-dev/functions/rsync: Patched I have added support for multiple excludes in the rsync. The rsync function should be complete and ready for use. It has been deemed complete until a bug is found or feature is needed. +--------------------------+ Mon Oct 24 17:39 EST 2005 stratdate-dev/functions/glibc: Created This function checks to see if glibc needs upgraded. It has been deemed complete until a bug is found or featureis needed. stratdate-dev/functions/runlevel: Created This function checks to make sure we are in runlevel 1 so we can do a glibc upgrade safely. It has been deemed complete until a bug is found or feature is needed. stratdate-dev/functions/uidcheck: Created This function check the UID of the user to make sure we are root before we try to upgrade packages. It has been deemed complete until a bug is found or featureis needed. testing/10242005/stratdate: Created I have created this testing version to demonstrate the use of the new rsync function and how this modular setup can easily be used to create multiple frontends. testing/10242005/notes.txt: Created This merely tells users that excludes will not work properly in this testing released. This should be fixed extremely soon. +--------------------------+ Sun Oct 23 12:28 EST 2005 stratdate-dev/functions/rsync: Created This function has been created but is no where NEAR being finished. I will work with this function and begin working on either functions after I have completed this function.

  • Delay

I am currently putting off Stratdate for a number of reasons. Other projects I maintain require my attention (Stratux) and school is taking up most of my free time. I will at some point in the near future resume development. If anyone has a good knowledge of Slackware and would like to help me, please email me at straterra@gmail.com. If not, I will pick up development as soon as I am not so busy. Thank you for your patience and support. :D
