Hi,
that does help - can you post exactly what you have in the deptnames variable from your ryanseds.config.pl line (should be around line 89). e.g.
@deptnames = ("General","Dept 1","Dept 2","Dept 3", "Dept 4");
It sounds like you might have some character in your version which Perl is struggling with.

Ive double checked the permissions and I dont see anything wrong, and I dont see any errors in the apache log files that appear to be permission issues...
but i do see these:

RyansEDS v1.0 is now out.
Until now it's been used internally only but it's had four years of testing and tweaking - hence the first public release is 1.0 and not a beta.
