Force Notepad++ to read local configuration, ie what is in the notepad++.exe folder, by adding an empty file named doLocalConf.xml there. Be sure to transfer all your configuration files thern, for obvious consistency.

So it means that only АБ was recorded, ie the capital cyrillic letters. This implies that somehow your search using lower case cyrillic letters got turned into uppercase before Notepad++ processed it.
What are your OS version and locale? Also, do you have advanced text services turned on for all applications? For me, the latter solved a bunch of issues. Can you change the system...

This is still happening on version 5.5.1 on Windows 7. If I disassociate .txt files from Notepad++, after a couple minutes, the new 'text document' option comes back. Though, it seems that .txt files still automatically open in Notepad++. I guess that's ok since I happen to want that.

If you double click an txt file it says it wants to create a C:\program file. So it looks like the quotation marks are the culprit. I tried a few variances of the actual command but with no luck.

By some kind of perverse logic, this indicates it must be great software.
Personally I'm considering boycotting the binary system because the system of 0 and 1 is unbalanced, and doesn't give a fair voice to the negative numbers. I think we should switch to trinary logic and stop suppressing the dark side of our computing.
