LXALERT is a LINUX utility which starts an arbitrary program when triggered by a "DRIVEWAY PATROL" infrared wireless alert system. The computer's parallel port is used for communication and for providing power to the receiver device of the alert system. The modifications to the receiver board are simple; the explanations include pictures of the circuit board.
