What's happening?

  • A couple observations, objections, and suggestions

I've been using Frinika for a while, but I have a few things I'd like to say. I have a small, widescreen laptop monitor. In order to edit music properly without excessive scrolling in the piano roll, I need to zoom out vertically and maximize the piano roll. A few things annoy me about this: 1) The default zoom level on the piano roll is way too big to do anything with, as I can barely fit an...

  • Followup: RE: source code for FrinikaServerInterfaces.jar ?

Hi, sorry, I've been busy recently. Networking capabilities sound cool! I am fine either way in terms of packaging. If you make a split, I would like to package the networking version, but that can only be done after we package some 10+ other java packages for Fedora. It might take a while...

OK the "check for updates" feature is of minor importance - but the lmappletserver is introduced for future networking features - the question is maybe whether we should split Frinika into standalone and networked editions. Networking features are for collaboration etc., but these will never be crucial for making music - what do you think? regards, Peter.

No, it is fine as long as the sources are publicly available somewhere. Unfortunately, I had to drop frinika 0.6.0's "check for updates" feature from the Fedora package for the time being. We don't have all the dependencies of LMAppletserver available in Fedora (which is a lot!), so we will wait until we complete the dependency chain.

  • Followup: RE: source code for FrinikaServerInterfaces.jar ?

Hi, The FrinikaServerInterfaces sources are extracted from this svn folder: https://frinika.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/frinika/websites/frinikagoogleappengine/ The lmappletserver build was a snapshot of the latest svn trunk at that time. LMAppletserver I can make a release if you need one - but I was not planning of making releases of the frinikagoogleappengine app since this is...

  • source code for FrinikaServerInterfaces.jar ?

Hi folks, it's me again, the Fedora packager of frinika. I wanted to package the new version but I can't seem to find the sources for this jar file anywhere. Could you point me to it? Also what version of lmappletserver do I have to package? Thanks!
