About Audacity 4.0: I've been using previous builds for about 20 years, almost daily for what I do (mostly audio track editing). I must say, the new build is clumsy, frustrating, pointless, and annoying for those of us who use it intensively. I don't have time to fight with legacy software; if this were the debut of some small shop's entry into the audio-editing software field, I could excuse it. I love improvements, innovations, bug fixes, and new tools--especially for free. But thank God I can still revert to 3.7.8 so I can get some work done. It's been fun, Audacity, but now you're on the "upgrade" slag heap with so many other formerly iconic freeware builds that are essential productivity tools.

Great program. Easy to use, while directing you to perform the necessary requests.
