DiscRotate is a Daemon that will control the speed of your optical drives, written in Cocoa for Mac OS X Leopard 10.5 and Tiger 10.4 (open beta).
Keeps my MacBook Pro calm when I play DivX-videos from DVD. Certainly DiscRotate works with all files and media, just spins that disc as slow as you want. Highly recommended for all MacBooks!!! Mac OS X Leopard - 2.2GHz MacBook Pro
Just installed Tiger on my external hdd for testing and DiscRotate is not working at all. Expect an update in the next couple of days, I need to figure out why DistributedObjects are working differently on Tiger.
Version 0.4 (3/26/2008) * Tiger support (open beta) * Code cleanup & optimizations
