Dear Skim-app-users: All summer I was doing research in Turkey, and I was carefully reading a pdf Ph.D. dissertation and adding lots of notes using Skim 0.6.1. This dissertation was a scan, and in order to make it possible to add notes to it I OCR-ed it using Acrobat 6. The file was very large (about 14 MB), and it took forever to scroll through it. All summer I added notes to that file (on my 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo MacBook running OS 10.4.10), and then I upgraded to Skim 0.7 when it was released. Then I came home to Southern California, and now when I open the file on my 2.16 GHz Core 2 Duo iMac also running OS 10.4.10, all the notes have disappeared (using Skim 0.7). My wife is still in Turkey with the MacBook, so twice I asked her to email me the file so I could open it with the notes, but again it opens without them. What happened to my notes? I hope I can get them back because if I cannot I will have lost a lot of work. Thanks for your help, Jay |
