I am by no means an expert on Scigraphica so please take my response with a 
grain of salt.
When  importing data from text files I did notice that Scigraphica seems to 
have some limits as far as file size is concerned.  I would recommend 
experimenting with smaller files first - csv works well in general.  I did 
notice many crashes though when importing files of several thousand rows 
and around 100 columns.
