This causes the skill (and bonus) to be missing from the Output Sheet (csheet_fantasy_combined), and the skill is then incorrectly calculated by the generic "Craft (Untrained)" entry. This is related to the changes made for tracker 867079 in PcGen:DM , but I'm entering it here because the skill bonus is not being applied, rather than an error in the data files. This isn't high priority as you can already display all skills. If we get more people requesting this we can consider upping the priority. When I started looking at this issue, Craftsman skills were listed (incorrectly) as only useable if trained. This was fixed under tracker 867079, with the addition of having a special "Craftsman (untrained)" entry created to summarize all of the untrained skills that gain their bonus only from INT. Now comes the problem - a Gnome gets an added bonus in one of those craft skills. So when using a pcgen output sheet, the only item that appears for the Gnome is the pcgen- created "Craftsman (untrained)" entry, which under-states the skill points for the character in the case of Alchemy. In this case, I believe it should be fixed for release of 5.6 in one of two ways - a) make adjustment to logic as suggested earlier, so that any char with MISC adjustment to a Craft skill will have that skill show up on the OS when the option choice is "Untrained". b) remove the enhancement of using the "Craftsman (untrained)" summary line, and go back to the earlier method of displaying all Craftsman skills when the option choice is "Untrained". In my opinion, the "better" choice is (a). But (b) would be consistent with my understanding of the difference between FREQ and BUG. We're part-way down the "FREQ" path now, and it's not working as well as could be expected. I don't think the idea of forcing all skills to be displayed is the only choice available, and I disagree with the assertion made by merton_monk in the earlier message. Yes, all skills have modifiers based upon char stats, but that's not (or should not be) the determinant in whether a skill is printed when the "show untrained" option is checked. I'd propose the following display behavior is consistent with a mythical "common user" or "intended use". Keep the current display methodology for the "untrained" choice (uses a description of "Craftsman (untrained)" as a way to describe all the Craftsman skills that are useable untrained, but for which no skill point has been spent), but change the logic from this (pseudo-code) If no_skill_point_spent then use_summary_Line else display_individual_skill to the following (pseudo-code) If (no_skill_point_spent AND no_miscellaneous_bonus) then use_summary_Line else display_individual_skill This has what I perceive as the desired effect - any skill that's useable untrained is displayed at the appropriate value, without requiring an expanded listing of every skill in the RSRD. I hope I've made my case in a way that doesn't offend. I appreciate the work the team is doing.
