Bugs item #1064928, was opened at 2004-11-12 15:07 Message generated for change (Comment added) made by karianna You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=384719&aid=1064928&group_id=25576 Category: User Interface Group: 5.7.8 Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Grutos (grutos) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: 5.7.8 & XP Home, SP2 = Slow Initial Comment: I have been using PC Gen 5.6.0 on my XP Home, SP2 box and have had very few problems (outside of user error). However, when I installed the 5.7.8 version, PC Gen went from being very quick and responded well to bogged down and sluggish. I still have 5.6.0 installed, but it is not running when 5.7.8 is running. Do I need to completely uninstall 5.6.0 for there to be no conflicts? System: AMD Athlon XP 2200+ 768 MB DDR RAM GF2 MX 400 64 MB AGP video card XP Home, SP2 Also just noticed in 5.7.8 that when I launch the program, the is a consistent "Cannot find modifer named: +1" (this repeats 7 times for each number: +1 through +5). Thanks :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Martijn Verburg (karianna) Date: 2004-12-10 12:30 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=252169 5.7.11 seems to be speedy for my XP SP2 box.. Users may also benefit from the instructions in pcgen.bat file. I think bug can be closed? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Loknar (loknar) Date: 2004-12-04 22:46 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1007281 Well I have the same problem for windows 2k with Servicepack 4 - although setting the xmx parameter helped a bit especially the equipment pane is extremely slow (and after it was once opened the whole PCGEN) ... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=384719&aid=1064928&group_id=25576 |
