OS token SKILLPOINTS wrong value [_exp 7059] -------------------------------------------- Key: CODE-668 URL: http://jira.pcgen.org/browse/CODE-668 Project: Code Issue Type: Bug Components: Needs Verification Review Reporter: David R. Bender Fix For: 6.0.x SF ID: 1703749 Last Update: Settings changed ( thpr ) Details: I have discovered the following bug: The OS tokens SKILLPOINTS.TOTAL and SKILLPOINTS.USED calculate erroneous values if a character has ranks in a skill that has a conditional subskill. Theses totals then include those ranks twice, once for the main skill, and again for the subskill. For example: I have a druid in my party. He is human, 3rd level and has an Intelligence score of 14, so he should have 44 skill points in total. However, the token gives the value as 46. He has two ranks in Survival, and since he is a druid he gets a conditional subskill "Survival (Natural Environment)" where he has a +2 bonus. This is also listed with 2 ranks, and these 2 ranks are figured into the total. Someone please tracker this bug, and assign it to me. Regards, Stefan. That suggestion I put out on _exp never went anywhere (needs to be revived). Date: 2007-07-17 11:33:41 EDT Sender: kariannaSourceForge.net DonorProject Admin & DonorAccepting Donations Hide Tir, have we got a proposal tracker floating around that I can reference? Date: 2007-05-10 04:40:47 EDT Sender: zaisterSourceForge.net Subscriber and DonorProject Donor Hide This is more of a concept thing with the conditional subskills. Currently there is no such thing; as far as the code is concerned, all skills are created equal. As such, the code has no way to distinguish betweens "real" skillranks that come from the pcg file and "false" skillranks that data assigns to these conditional subskills via BONUS:SKILLRANK. Currenty it is not possible to distinguish these without making assumptions about the structure of data files, which is bad. Tir has made a propsal to define a tag PARENTSKILL to better create these subskills, this would also help solving this problem. Since it is currently not doable without a bad hack, I am setting resolution to "later". We should take a look at Tir's concept and decide how to go from there. -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA. - If you think it was sent incorrectly contact one of the administrators: http://jira.pcgen.org/secure/Administrators.jspa - For more information on JIRA, see: http://www.atlassian.com/software/jira |
