[RSRD] Riding dog animal companions incorrect --------------------------------------------- Key: DATA-111 URL: http://jira.pcgen.org/browse/DATA-111 Project: Data Issue Type: Bug Components: RSRD (3.5E) Reporter: David R. Bender Tracker #7 [RSRD] Riding dog animal companions incorrect - ID: 1365205 TYPE: Data Bug ===== etails: Moved from: <https://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php? func=detail&aid=1199673&group_id=36698&atid=417816> >From http://groups.yahoo.com/group/pcgen/message/85267 Riding dog animal companion gets Multiattack instead of second attack for druid of sufficiently high level (for example 9). Win2000 java version "1.5.0_02" Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_02-b09) Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0_02-b09, mixed mode) Thanks, Andriy --- >From http://groups.yahoo.com/group/pcgen/message/85272 > Hmmm....the riding dog animal companion I did under these > same conditions got both Multiattack as a special ability > and got the 2nd attack > > Multiattack is wrong, but I want to nail down all the issues > here before a tracker is created. Well, it actually got second attack everywhere but for bite. Sorry I should have noticed that but since only bite makes sense I did not pay attention to everything else. Again I have default monsters off if that could affect anything. Thanks, Andriy Submitted: Eddy Anthony ( eddyanthony ) - 2005-11-23 21:30:55 EST ===== Date: 2006-09-17 00:30:24 EDT Sender: eddyanthonySourceForge.net SubscriberProject Admin Hide Logged In: YES user_id=886893 The work around doesn't work. I've found that there is no way to add an attack to a specific natural attack. BONUS:COMBAT|ATTACKS adjust ALL attacks and ATTACKS is not a property that BONUS:WEAPONPROF can adjust. I've put in a comment in another tracker to request this. Let me know when that's done and I'll open a new tracker with the remaining work - K Date: 2006-08-30 12:45:10 EDT Sender: eddyanthonySourceForge.net SubscriberProject Admin Hide Logged In: YES user_id=886893 A companion of a 9th lvl druid gains Multiattack as a bonus feat if it has three or more natural attacks and does not already have that feat. If it does not have the requisite three or more natural attacks, the animal companion instead gains a second attack with its primary natural weapon, albeit at a -5 penalty. We can't do this in one line because we do not have a way to test the number of natural attacks a creature has. A solution to that issue is included in this FREQ: [ 1411229 ] count("x") JEP function <https://sourceforge.net/tracker/? func=detail&aid=1411229&group_id=25576&atid=384722> What the new companion mod features may allow us to do is set up individual lines for specific animals. For example since we know the riding dog get a second attack instead of Multiattack we can set up a line to grant this just for it. The Animal Companion list is small enough to make this practical, I'll see if I can do this.
