in release candidate 3.

Equip a floating shield. This shows up correctly in AC 
as a shield bonus of 3. 
Now equip the robes of the archmagi. This only gives an 
armour bonus of 2. No other armour bonuses or 
equipment is in use which should effect this. 
Total AC is therefore 3 lower than it should be. 
Character sheet is attached.

Additional, the floating is the animated power, the 
command bit I don't think is important. Just create a 
new custom large metal shield with masterwork, +1 and 
animated to try and recreated.

This must be an upgrade issue. This item was created 
in an earlier version but now when I look for it in the 
custom lists it doesn't seem to exist. Any idea where I 
can locate it in the files cos then I can send it to you.

Since the robe is worn in SLOT Robe it can't use
TYPE=Armor.STACK for 
the Armor bonus because it needs to NOT stack with 
any actual
armor 
worn. This cause the problem with it not stacking with a 
shield,
which it 
should. This is another problem which can only be 
solved with a
better

This is a tricky problem. The Robe provides an Armor 
bonus and
so does 
the shield (per 3.0 rules) but since the Robe is not actual
armor it's AC 
bonus does not stack with the shield. The Robe, having 
the
better bonus, 
is the one which is applied.

The error here is that the gameMode separates the 
bonuses for
display by 
subtracting the AC bonuses from Shield type equipment 
(not by
bonus 
type) and displays that.

I don't fully understand what you mean here. 

If you have a problem with the wording, because the SRD 
text doesn't give a shield bonus, then name it something 
like Armor_S instead of Shield. 

Or is the problem that such changes shouldn't be 
introduced to the SRD dataset's gamemode anymore?

Thats the problem, 3.0 does not have TYPE=Shield bonuses, that was one of
the 
improvements of 3.5

Wouldn't it work if you typed the shield bonuses as 
TYPE=Shield.REPLACE and fed that shield type result into 
the correct armor bonuses in the gamemode?
