Category: Documentation Typo Group: For 5.14 Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 7 Private: No Submitted By: Tom Parker (thpr) >Assigned to: Maredudd (maredudd800) Summary: .CLEAR is NOT global and should not be documented as such Initial Comment: In the docs, there are sections that are "<blah>.CLEAR" which is (1) deceptive, since that is completely NOT the syntax when .CLEAR is used and (2) absolutely wrong in that it is labeled as Global. It is NOT global, and only works with a very specific set of tags. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Maredudd (maredudd800) Date: 2008-04-30 23:29 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1569765 Originator: NO Removed .CLEAR tags from the Data File Indexes. Changed all "SA" tags to "SAB" tag in the .CLEAR docs. The .CLEAR docs do provide some guidance for how to use it including a statement that it does not work with all tags. Tom, can you give me a list of tags that .CLEAR and .CLEAR. can be used with? svn #6156 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Tom Parker (thpr) Date: 2008-04-30 13:22 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1037926 Originator: YES In other words, this should be removed from the left hand navigator section where .MOD, .COPY and .FORGET are documented - it is a completely different beast... if a separate page is required, then that's okay, but it should NOT be in the navigator and should provide no indication that it is global. You're welcome to link from the individual tokens that support .CLEAR, if you think that is useful. Also, you should clearly indicate where .CLEAR. is possible and .CLEAR is possible, which isn't clear from the docs, but also varies by token. Also, you should eliminate any references to SA in the .CLEAR docs, except warning for cross-level interaction, since SA is deprecated. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=748234&aid=1954950&group_id=25576 |
