It does create an item called Davril's Longsword that will display in inventory B. BANE_M displays %CHOICE in inventory as the example does not include a choice. C. If you add a choice [BANE_M|Undead for ex] %CHOICE is still displayed in inventory as the choice is not being applied. D. It is not a weapon and does not display a weapon block if carried or equipped. The following is displayed on the inventory tab: Davril's Longsword TYPE: Properties: +2 enhancement bonus and does +2d6 bonus damage vs. Undead, good-aligned,+2d6 holy damage vs. evil,1 negative level bestowed to evil wielder, threat range doubled WT: 0 lbs. Size: M SOURCE: my source Apparently BASEITEM does not copy all info from the base item (which may be as intended) but the docs should reflect what other tags need to be included to get a complete item. BASEITEM+EQMOD is not filling in the chooser correctly. This is likely a code bug. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: James Dempsey (jdempsey) Date: 2008-04-16 19:29 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=558288 Originator: NO BASEITEM is only really used for resizing items and proficiencies. It will allow proficiencies to be copied across and will provide a link back to the original item. Otherwise all other tags for the item will need to be provided (damage, type, weight, cost, etc). This is the reason behind issues A&D. As .COPY exists to make a copy of an item, there doesn't appear to be a need to change this at this time. Issue B, as noted, is a docs bug. The supplied text from the inventory tab appears correct to me for issue C. Note that the choice supplied must be one of the options in the equipment modifier's chooser definition for it to work. Undead in this case is fine. I'll pass this to the docs team to update the EQMOD and BASEITEM docs. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=748234&aid=1861498&group_id=25576 |
