Category: Spell Support Group: To be fixed For 5.12 Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Zorden (zorden) Assigned to: Frank Kliewe (frank_kliewe) Summary: Mage Armor armor bonus stacks with all kind of armor bonuses Initial Comment: Mage Armor armor bonus stacks with all kind of armor bonuses which it shouldn't do. Eg. equipping a studded leather armor with 3 armor bonus and selecting Mage Armor as a temporary bonus it stacks and the total AC will be 7. PCGEN v5.10.1 (stable) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Eddy Anthony (eddyanthony) Date: 2006-08-27 15:22 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=886893 Yes we have a whole crop of problems due to the limitations of stacking. When we want somthing not to stack we give it a type and bonuses of the same type won't stack. One problem comes when we have bonuses of a different type which do not stack. The concept of Class Defense from Unearthed Arcana is an example of this, it provides an AC bonus based on class level and the type of armor prof your classes provide. Class Defense does not stack with Armor bonuses but it does stack with your Touch AC (armor does not) but not your flatfooted AC (armor does). So if the bonus is TYPEd "ClassDefense" it gets stacked with armor (which we don't want) and if it is TYPEd "Armor" it will not stack with other armor bonuses as desired but the Touch and Flatfooted AC values will be incorrect. We need an enhancement to the way bonuses are stacked to allow different bonuse types to be set not to stack. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Martijn Verburg (karianna) Date: 2006-08-27 13:06 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=252169 Deja vu here, I'm sure we've dealt with this before. If not then its related to the data bugs on stacking which in turn are waiting on a as of yet unidentified code freq. But firstly, could a data monkey comment on this? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=384719&aid=1547524&group_id=25576 |
