Category: User Interface Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Eddy Anthony (eddyanthony) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Ability to equip an item to a choice of Slots Initial Comment: This request is to allow for data to code items which can be equipped to more than one possible slots. The item would have multiple Slot TYPEs and could be equipped to any ONE of the slots. Currently PCGen becomes confused when asked to equip an item with multiple equipment slot types, it either defaults to one or simply equips the item without filling a slot. Modify the behaviour of the Equipping Tab as follows: When an item has more than one slot type the Equip window should present those slots as options for location to equip the item instead of the Equipped option and in addition to Carried and Not Carried. With this in place a magic item with TYPE:Glove.Bracer would present these options when equipped: * Hand * Arm * Carried * Not Carried ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Eddy Anthony (eddyanthony) Date: 2006-05-15 20:38 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=886893 > Ok, but we also need to cover the possibility of items that are > equipped to multiple slots at once. > E.g. an item that counts as both a suit of armour and as an amulet, > and is equipped to both the armour slot and neck slot. OK how about this: We have a SLOTS tag for equipment now which says how many slots the equipment takes up, this is used for things like a pair of gloves which take two hand slots. We have the coders make this work with different slot types as well, so per your example the Armor would have TYPE:Armor.Amulet and SLOTS:2. Instead of offering a choice it would only offer Equipped and use up the two slots. It would also not allow you to equip the item unless both slots were free. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=384722&aid=1489076&group_id=25576 |
