Category: Feat Support Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None >Priority: 8 Submitted By: Eddy Anthony (eddyanthony) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Martial/Exotic weapons and CHANGEPROF issue Initial Comment: If you add the Exotic Weapon Proficiency to a class that doesn't already have martial weapon proficiency in the weapon (I tested clericand wizard) then pcgen automatically add the martial weapon proficiency as well (which is correct, we discussed that 3-4 months ago). But... (and here's where the RC6 bug comes in). When it adds the Martial weapon prof it initially adds it as if you had taken the feat (by using a selection). You can then remove the Martial weapon prof and increase your feats remaining by one. Then the Martial weapon prof shows as an automatically gained feat and you can't remove it for another feat available. Now you ask, why do we care if lst code that isn't in the distribution files do this? Because the CHANGEPROF tag on dwarfs causes the same thing to happen when you take Martial weapon proficiency in Waraxe (Dwarven/Exotic). It gives you MWP and EWP both (as it's supposed to) but allows the one you get automatically to be removed to increase your feat total. To reproduce: load rsrd Create a new character give alignement select dwarf as race add one level in cleric go to feat tab under General add Martial Weapon prof for Waraxe (Dwarven/Exotic) [BTW a second, minor bug here, because the MWP and EWP lists are read from the weaponprof files, a weapon with multi profs (which is possible with Unearthed arcana OGL) show multiple times on this list rather than just once ref. Waraxe (Dwarven/Martial.] you will now have two proficiency feat for the Waraxe, one MWP one EWP. remove EWP and get and extra feat remaining but still have MWP in Waraxe. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Martijn Verburg (karianna) Date: 2005-08-31 05:07 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=252169 £$%$, this is related to the two other bugs in this area 1001537 and 1080188, I bet I'll find more as well. - K ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Michael Gray (mhgj) Date: 2005-04-19 05:51 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=291656 I did fail to point out two things: 1. It only happens with the Martial in 2 hand/Exotic in 1 hand weapons (dwarven waraxe. bastard sword). Other Exotic weapons don't cause it. 2. Although I wrote the example for a dwarf with CHANGEPROF, I'm not sure CHANGEPROF is causing it. Any race which takes exotic WP with a Waraxe seems to do it. The culprit seems to be the code included to add the MWP and EWP both for these types pf weapons. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=384719&aid=1185315&group_id=25576 |
