Although IMM may be the most urgent interface, this concept could be extended to a SAF utils C++ library, providing easy-to-use C++ wrappers for other services as well. I think focus should be on ease of use - the SAF APIs are notoriously difficult, and I think there is a fundamental problem to achieve high availability if the application programmers don't even understand how to use the APIs properly.

I have started doing some small prototyping work on this. Will post prototype code shortly.
In preparation for 4.5 FC. I am not sure if this can get in by 15th. Will move it to 4.6 by EOD if there are no updates on this.

OpenSAF needs a new C++ library to interface with IMM. The current C immutils semantics could be maintained but in a more OO approach.
