[Openocd-development] Problems with linux and libftdi

Hello,

I'm trying to use OpenOCD to flash and debug an Atmel AT91SAM7S256, using the 
Olimex ARM-USB-OCD. I'm using the latest version from SVN (r211).

The configuration file I use works on a Windows host, but I ran into the 
following problems when using my Ubuntu (x86_64) box:

I have added udev rules so that the device should be read-writable by all 
users, so faulty permissions shouldn't be the cause? When run as root, I get 
similar results:

Using the binary-only ftd2xx driver is not an option since my system is 
64-bit.

Does anyone have a clue of what might be wrong and how it can be remedied?
