Hello, I'm trying to use OpenOCD to flash and debug an Atmel AT91SAM7S256, using the Olimex ARM-USB-OCD. I'm using the latest version from SVN (r211). The configuration file I use works on a Windows host, but I ran into the following problems when using my Ubuntu (x86_64) box: staffan@june:~/bbfw$ openocd -d 3 -f /home/staffan/bbfw/openocd_at91sam7s_dbg_ftdi.cfg Info: openocd.c:92 main(): Open On-Chip Debugger (2007-07-31 19:00 CEST) Debug: jtag.c:1407 jtag_init(): - Debug: ft2232.c:1421 ft2232_init_libftdi(): 'ft2232' interface using libftdi with 'olimex-jtag' layout (15ba:0003) Error: ft2232.c:1433 ft2232_init_libftdi(): unable to open ftdi device: unable to fetch product description I have added udev rules so that the device should be read-writable by all users, so faulty permissions shouldn't be the cause? When run as root, I get similar results: staffan@june:~/bbfw$ sudo openocd -d 3 -f /home/staffan/bbfw/openocd_at91sam7s_dbg_ftdi.cfg Info: openocd.c:92 main(): Open On-Chip Debugger (2007-07-31 19:00 CEST) Debug: jtag.c:1407 jtag_init(): - Debug: ft2232.c:1421 ft2232_init_libftdi(): 'ft2232' interface using libftdi with 'olimex-jtag' layout (15ba:0003) Error: ft2232.c:1433 ft2232_init_libftdi(): unable to open ftdi device: device not found Using the binary-only ftd2xx driver is not an option since my system is 64-bit. Does anyone have a clue of what might be wrong and how it can be remedied? Staffan Gimåker |
