Everybody, I have been working on a OmegaT 1.6 user manual the last few days and I am almost done with it now. The base is the already existing 1.4.6RC manual. Differences with the current manual are as follows: 1) A number of pages have been merged so that related information can be found in one spot 2) Some pages have seen modifications in their structure. Mostly cut&paste, adding titles, removing or adding whole sentences 3) Some parts have been duplicated since they were equally relevant in different files. 4) 1.6 specific information has been added where necessary (new html parser, "workflow" options, etc) 5) long overdue information has been added where necessary (for ex listing of all the menu functions) All the above modifications are "common sense" modifications. I have tried to edit the text _as little as possible_ to not waste the already existing TMs. Practically speaking I think 95% of the already existing OmegaT User Manual TMs from 1.4.5 or 1.4.6RC (if already translated) can be reused without any problem. My question is: What important information should be included in this manual ? There are things like TMX compatibility that have been discussed on Yahoo that could be formalized in the manual for exemple. I am looking for such items _and_ the text that goes with it :) I am trying to finish this by Nov 9th so that I can upload a draft version to Yahoo before the ATA meeting in Seattle starts. Corinne McKay (Open Source Update) will make a presentation including OmegaT and I want to have something up to date in case people join us at this time. Thanks in advance for your collaboration :) Jean-Christophe |
