With 5 enhancements and 8 bug fixes, OmegaT latest version 3.1.6 brings both new features and stability.

One of the oldest requests (#35) was developed: OmegaT now loads automatically the last opened segment in a project.

The last used search (and replace) items are memorised.

It’s possible to customise the modification information as well as the content of the protected part tooltip.

OmegaT latest version 3.1.5 contains two enhancements and four bug fixes.

OmegaT now loads alternative translations from external TMXs created by OmegaT.

The five most recent projects are now listed and can be opened from the Project menu.

An error occurred when trying to validate tags with a changed order.

OmegaT standard version 2.6.3 update 11 released

OmegaT standard version 2.6.3 update 11 is a maintenance release.

It contains three enhancements and two bug fixes.

Specific preferences and user interface layout can be built into a Java Web Start package at
compilation time.

Documentation can now be created as PDF for CJK languages. This release contains PDF documentation in Japanese and Traditional Chinese.

There’s no more a warning about mixed content for the Java Web Start version.... read more

OmegaT latest version 3.1.4 released

OmegaT latest version 3.1.4 contains 12 enhancements and 2 bug fixes.

It is now possible to select the match percentage on which to base the match ordering. This is especially useful when using the automatic insertion of fuzzy matches.

It is possible to exclude the loading of specific files and folders from the source folder. By default, some system files or folders are ignored.

A significant number of enhancements are related to team projects.
SVNKit, the library used to connect to an SVN server, was updated to 1.8.5. This allows updating managing tools (e.g., Tortoise SVN) to a version compatible with SVN 1.8. When a team project gets online/offline, the last dialog box replaces the previous one, instead of piling up as was done previously. The repository type detection is now more robust. When OmegaT tries to synchronise, it now waits for the user to finish typing the current segment, so as to avoid “cursor jumping”.... read more

OmegaT latest version 3.1.3 contains 12 enhancements and 4 bug fixes.

When using alternative translations, it is now possible to not use the filename, which makes it possible to reuse the alternative translation across documents with different names.
It is now also possible to RESNAME for alternative translations in the XLIFF filter.

A new feature in the Go To menu allows going to the selected fuzzy match. Previously, this was only possible through a right click on a match.... read more

OmegaT latest version 3.1.2 released

OmegaT latest version 3.1.2 contains 17 enhancements and 2 bug fixes.

OmegaT can now connect to the TaaS (terminology as a service) website, https://demo.taas-project.eu. TaaS offers a number of tools to create and manage glossaries, including terminology extraction. TaaS public and private glossaries can be downloaded or used dynamically in OmegaT.

The search window had a number of improvements: it is possible to include notes from orphan segments and external TMXs, and several identical results in in the window appear as a single one.... read more

OmegaT standard version 2.6.3 update 10 is a maintenance release.

It contains two bug fixes.

Swedish segmentation rules were using a wrong language code.

In team projects, a "server authentication" could happen, which prevented from properly entering credentials.

The Japanese documentation was updated.

OmegaT latest version 3.1.1 update 1 is a maintenance release, with 1 enhancement and 5 bug fixes.

Two scripts were improved and three filters were fixed.

In the spell checker script, ‘special’ characters (e.g., ‘&’ or ‘\n’) can be stripped before spell checking occurs.
Under Windows, the Open xxx scripts (e.g., Open glossary) were not compatible with Samba shares.

The HTML filter was confusing the <head> and

tags, which could lead to wrong insertion of the <meta> tag.... read more

OmegaT latest version 3.1.1 was released.

Compared with 3.1, it has 13 new features and 5 bug fixes.

The SVG filter now supports the Adobe Illustrator XML export format.

In XLIFF filters, it’s possible to use the <trans-unit> ID identifier for alternative translations, which is more reliable in localisation contexts.

There is a new Mozilla .lang filter, and the PO filter allows translating blank source segments.... read more

OmegaT latest version 3.1.0 released

OmegaT latest version 3.1.0 was released.

Compared with 3.0.8 update 5, it has 34 new features and 6 bug fixes.

When a conflict happens in a team project (i.e., when two translators translated the same segment at the same time), there is now a graphical conflict resolution window, based on SuperTMXMerge, https://github.com/amake/SuperTMXMerge, in which the user can select which translation should be kept. As this should be safer than the prior method used to solve conflicts, updating to this version is recommended for users of team projects. Synchronisation does not occur anymore when creating translated documents in team projects, which should gain time on large projects. Modifying project properties is disabled for team projects. The error when saving a team project without a glossary file was fixed.... read more

OmegaT standard version 2.6.3 update 9 and latest version 3.0.8 update 5 were released.

They are maintenance releases with one critical bug fix for people using team projects.

The fix introduced in 2.6.3 update 8 was not enough. In some circumstances, older translations could still overwrite newer ones.

OmegaT 2.6.3 update 9 now contains a full localisation in Interlingua, including documentation.

OmegaT latest version 3.0.8 update 3 was released.

It is a maintenance release, with 2 enhancements and 1 bug fix.

Due to a bug in Java 1.7 for Mac, which is now included in the Mac version, OmegaT could freeze when creating a new project or opening an existing one. We have found a workaround, and the situation should be back to normal.

As the issue was less likely to happen when using keyboard shortcuts than using the menu, a default keyboard shortcut was added for creating a new project.... read more

The Mac version now contains the Java Runtime Environment (1.7). Runtime parameters (e.g., user language, Google API key, etc.) can be edited in OmegaT.app/Contents/MacOS/OmegaT.sh. OmegaT standard version 2.6.3 update 7 was released.

It is a maintenance release with three bug fixes and one enhancement.

The release date is now mentioned for each release in changes.txt.

A Word plugin was making some weird inline code to appear in OmegaT.

HTML Help Compiler files could not be loaded.

When using Java Webstart, Java was warning about "mixed content" in the application, and asking whether the application should be blocked or not. This was fixed, and no question is asked anymore.... read more

OmegaT latest version 3.0.6 released

OmegaT latest version 3.0.6 was released.

This release brings 9 enhancements and 3 bug fixes.

Previously, OmegaT offered the benefits of tokenizers (stemming in fuzzy matches and glossaries) for a limited list of languages only. With 3.0.6, OmegaT now offers those benefits for all languages supported by Hunspell (about a hundred) in addition to those already available.

The versions of OmegaT including the Java runtime will now use Java 1.7 instead of the previous 1.6.

Some SDL proprietary tags from .sdlxliff files could be seen in the Editor. They are now ignored.

The auto-completer, introduced in 3.0.1, has new views, allowing to insert symbols and specific Unicode characters, and to complete abbreviations.
