Bugs item #1112096, was opened at 2005-01-29 16:39 Message generated for change (Settings changed) made by mudelta You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=102435&aid=1112096&group_id=2435 Category: website Group: Feature requests Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Mario Duhanic (mudelta) >Assigned to: Danny Smith (dannysmith) Summary: automating download of minGW via (X)ML Initial Comment: Has there been already a proposal to provide the community not only with a download page but also with a (X)ML-Page like this: <release>current <item><id>gpp-bin</id> <type>binary</type> <description>g++</description> <version>4.0.1-somedate</version> <note>none</note> <size>2047232</size> </item> ... </release> or similar. If not, I would ask for that. So there is the possibility to use some scripts, which will look for release=current and id=gpp-bin for to download it (and install it). I am very glad, that there is still no install.exe for mingw and that is modularized. ok,ok, it is gpp. Maybe there could even be an entry like <release>current-bundle-minimalist-c++ ... containing all files needed to download and extract to build some c/c++ programs. Please do not understand this proposal as a call for a install script. I hate them. I always want the full control (at least I hope so) over my computer. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=102435&aid=1112096&group_id=2435 |
