Thanks very much. =20 Do you type a passphrase each time, or do you rely on .ssh/identity to identify you? Maybe a trace of=20 ssh -v <your cvs server> would show some difference from the trace I sent you? I would appreciate your help with a workaround -- it seems wrong that ssh should think my identity file is world-readable (and hence reject it) when it absolutely isn't. I'll await your advice.
