Bugs item #431857, was updated on 2001-06-08 21:16 You can respond by visiting: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=102435&aid=431857&group_id=2435 Category: binutils Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Jacob Nevins (jtn) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: recent binutils src has DOS line endings Initial Comment: Is it intentional that the source tarball binutils-2.11.90-20010607-src.tar.gz has DOS (CRLF) line-endings? (For comparison, other[1] recently released source tarballs use Unix line-endings.) It makes building on Unix a right pain... [1] gcc-2.95.3-20010608-src.tar.gz mingw-runtime-1.0-20010604-src.tar.gz w32api-1.0-20010606-src.tar.gz ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Paul Garceau (pgarceau) Date: 2001-06-10 12:20 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1762 Not a MinGW bug. Although your problem may be interesting and causing you problems you wish answers to, it is not a problem with the MinGW project. Your BUG report has therefore been deleted. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Paul Garceau (pgarceau) Date: 2001-06-10 12:20 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1762 MingW Tool Set is designed to support the MS-DOS (<cr><lf>) endings (MS Windows OS). If you want true Unix line ending sequence you might try stripping the MS-DOS <cr><lf> line endings via your Unix utilities such as VI or some other Unix specific text editor. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=102435&aid=431857&group_id=2435 |
