Believe it or not, it seems that if there are at least 3 spaces after
a closing tag, then xmlcatalog from msys-libxml2 (2.7.6-1) will crash.
It can tolerate one or two trailing blanks.

I do not see this problem specifically mentioned in the ChangeLog or bug
database, but it is fixed in 2.9.0.
