If you're approaching this with the wrong attitude, you'll always be frustrated at what's lacking. F/LOSS development is almost always very resource-limited except for some big ones like the Linux kernel. Given the available resources, the developers have no duty to provide the tools to users like they are a "product" that has to meet certain levels of "convenience" or "usability". I'm happy that it compiles stuff, that's all. We paid USD0.00 for it, so let us try to work within the limitations for now, shall we? Perhaps you would like to donate or contribute... Plan for "in a couple of years". Expect highly complex tools to require some attention. So write everything down. Pilots use lists, hospitals are starting too -- this is similar. Have some careful notes written in a file or notebook. Setting it up is very easy once you have chosen your particular set of files (especially MSYS, if you don't need or want everything.) I updated mine a few weeks ago, spent some time studying the docs and files. If I couldn't figure it out, then I thought it was my failure that I don't know enough about the tools. So apply some systematic problem-solving. The next time around, it should be dead easy if you go back and use your notes. It's all a matter of planning. > On Sat, May 1, 2010 at 6:46 PM, LRN wrote: > On 01.05.2010 19:37, someone somebody wrote: > [snip] -- Cheers, Kein-Hong Man (esq.) Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia |
