[Mingw-users] Fwd: gcc: installation problem, cannot exec `cc1'

I gate a file gcc (0 size no extension) on my working directory that
was the reason of the error.
Some question are still in my mind.

I use gcc for a while and one day I gate this error.
gcc: installation problem, cannot exec `cc1'
After a while I fix the eror and jump to conclusion that it was because in
C:\WINDOWS\system32
was a file gcc.exe of size 0.
Now I again have this error and I am trying to understand what this
message is about.
cc1 is where it is suppose to be.
I reinstall the Mingw 2 times.

I want to understand
So I have some question?
Can I find out where gcc (or OS windows XP) is looking for cc1 and it
can't find it?
Can I find out if I run one exe file let say prog.exe on command line
which prog was
find by OS (if there are more than one on disk) and if the one

I suppose I damaged something on
C:\WINDOWS\system32
because the way I use gcc on dos command line bat I don't know what can be.

Most of all I want to understand the message and how can I get more
information to fix the problem.
