Hi Earnie and All, Sorry, there was a mistake in my previou reply. Last night I must have gone back to the earlier MSYS release before giving up on it for the night. I have just installed msysCORE-1.0.11-20080826.tar.gz and the problem still stands: reddinm@TBADKI184 ~ $ cd reddinm sh: cd: reddinm: No such file or directory reddinm@TBADKI184 ~ $ ls autoconf-2.63 info autoconf-2.63.tar.gz libtool-2.2 automake-1.0 libtool-2.2.tar.gz automake-1.0.tar.gz m4-1.4.7-MSYS.tar bash-3.1-MSYS-1.0.11-1.tar man bin reddinm coreutils-5.97 usr coreutils-5.97-MSYS-1.0.11-snapshot.tar reddinm@TBADKI184 ~ $ cd \reddinm sh: cd: reddinm: No such file or directory reddinm@TBADKI184 ~ $ cd /reddinm sh: cd: /reddinm: No such file or directory reddinm@TBADKI184 ~ $ cd autoconf-2.63 Any ideas? Hope I am not breaking any ettiquet rules asking this question here. The link to the mailing list is not working. Kind regards, Matt Redding -----Original Message----- From: min...@li... On the SF project FRS page http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=2435 you will find it named "MSYS Supplementary Tools". In it you'll find a "Technology Preview: Tools for MSYS-1.0.11" release with more current versions of the tools contained within it. > * Install MSYS Core 1.0.11 > <http://downloads.sourceforge.net/mingw/msysCORE-1.0.11-2007.01.19-1.tar > .bz2> . It is an archive. Untar it in C:\msys\1.0. > On the SF project FRS page as above you will find "MSYS Base System" with a release of "Technology Preview: MSYS-1.0.11". In it are more recent versions of the individual packages used to create MSYS. The CORE MSYS package is delivered as msysCORE and contains the Minimal SYStem. The next version is 1.0.11 and the most current released date of the preview is 20080826. The bad thing about giving a specific file in the WIKI is that the WIKI data becomes outdated. > > Any ideas: > > $ls > autoconf-2.63 coreutils-5.97-MSYS-1.0.11-snapshot.tar > autoconf-2.63.tar.gz info > automake-1.0 libtool-2.2.tar.gz > automake-1.0.tar.gz m4-1.4.7-MSYS.tar > bash-3.1-MSYS-1.0.11-1.tar man > bin reddinm > coreutils-5.97 usr > > reddinm@TBADKI184 ~ > $ cd autoconf-2.63 > sh: cd: autoconf-2.63: No such file or directory > > > Hopefully this is a simple oversight on my part.
