IMO trying to use Cygwin as a build environment for non-Cygwin binaries is a tricky thing. You'd be better off using MSYS. The problem, as I understand it, is that building under Cygwin many packages will say "oh look, it's Cygwin, I should enable all the posixy bits" but in reality they won't compile or work because the gcc is actually mingw and doesn't support any of that. You might be able to get around this by specifying --build=i686-pc-mingw32 to force the autoconf stuff to consider the build environment as mingw and not Cygwin. Or just use MSYS. Brian |
