Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=3519587 By: knackeback I'm writing a m4 macro for a (C++)library to support the GNU-Build-tools. The macro tries to compile and link a small code snippet via AC_CHECK_LIB. Because I can not sure about the name of the library I try several names in a for loop. All works fine with *ix, the correct library name is discovered in this way. Now I tried my generated configure script under MinGW and oh my god it failed because the library extensions are different. Let say I have my library named libmyy.a under *ix and my linker option -lmyy works fine, the library built for MinGW is now called libmyy.lib and the -lmyy does not work. When I rename the lib to libmyy.a all is fine again. But that can not be the solution. How to write the macro in such a way, that it is working under MinGW too ? ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum.
