Check to see if the "real" stddef.h and stdarg.h actually exist where
they are supposed to be:
(somewhere like /mingw/lib/gcc-lib/mingw32/3.3.3 or
/mingw/lib/gcc/mingw32/3.4.2, depending
on what version of gcc you are using),  The buck should stop in the
system includes.
