I doubt gcc would produce a faster binary, for instance. And it seems unlikely that a gcc binary would compress better. Do you seek compiler independence? platform independence? or both? It sounds like those goals are not important to the author. But if you achieve them, then your code will work with any good compiler--yet what does that have to do with gcc or MinGW? |
