Jean-Claude, Well, there is nothing specific about adns that *requires* Winsock2 AFAIK. This version just uses Winsock2 because its readily available on the Win32 platform. The program I am working on SaveMyModem uses Winsock2 on the Win32 version to communicate with the POP3 and SMTP servers (altsocklib). http://sourceforge.net/projects/savemymodem (use the CVS version, the tarball is obsolete) Actually, there are other adns implementations for linux, BSD, etc that use the socket libraries on those platforms. I did not write adns, I only want to port the GNU Win32/Winsock2 version from MS VC++ to the MinGW toolset so I can port rblcheck to MinGW. Are there any MS VC++ experts that could help unravel this MS VC++ dependency? I am continuing my efforts with Dev-Cpp but I seem to be missing files or something. Any help is appreciated! Thanks! Checked the archives and no mention of rblcheck, minires, or adns. Did some more checking and the GNU Win32 port of adns is a Winsock2 program. Does that help? Thanks for the reply and clarification. Earnie seems to be spending his valuable time at least every other day, or so, telling people that they need to know about winsock2. I have a feeling that your question is going to be related to this. Please check the archives. Soren A -- Yes, it's really Svren, not Soren.
