It imports almost 100% of structural information (patterns, playlist items, instruments, effects ...) while in detail it of course can't import everything properly - LMMS would have to be a 100% clone of FL to achieve this (which obviously is not our goal). As a result, neither will similiar instruments (3x Osc vs. TripleOscillator) sound identical nor does LMMS have a good replacement for all FLS instruments. However this can be worked on. > 2) I use an MAudio Delta 1010 sound card. Right now I have tried LMMS > with ALSA only. But in the settings, I could not change the channels > from the default of 2. Recent versions of LMMS do not support surround (anymore). This *might* come back with version 1.0. > 3) I tried using my M-Audio Keystation 49e keyboard with LMMS, but > didn't seem to get it to work. Is Midi support fully working? I have an MA 49e too and it works fine with LMMS (except for the modulation wheel). > 4) Can you record an audio track while playing back the project? (I just > do acoustic and vocals really.. Most of the code is already in place but some stuff (especially audioDevice-enhancements) are still missing. > 5) I haven't had any luck getting .flp import to work. FLP Import filter has been rewritten in 0.4.1/0.4.2 so make sure you're running the latest version of LMMS. > Also, I'm confused on the VST > path.. I'm on linux, so do I need to fill this out? When opening VST-plugins, the file-dialog will point to this directory per default so you don't have to navigate there each time. Furthermore LMMS will search for VST plugins there to add them to the list of effects (i.e. listed in the effect select dialog) > Next, just a few bugs I've noticed... > 1) On anything complex, scrolling the song editor is almost impossible > because it gets so slow and jerky This hopefully will get fixed by switching to QGraphicsView for the trackContainerView's and its children. > 2) Maximizing the beat/bassline editor stretches the beat switches > across the screen.. Instead you can add steps via the context-menu of a pattern. > 2) The wiki is very incomplete (see suggestion 1) Anything particular you would expect? At least there's an almost complete manual for version 0.3.x (which still is quite usable for 0.4.x and will be updated some day) and IMHO most of the other pages are quite ready too.
