Hi, Try these rules: <SPAN TYPE="KEYWORD1" DELEGATE="SQUARE_BRACKETS"> <BEGIN>[</BEGIN> <END>]</END> </SPAN> ... later ... <RULES SET="SQUARE_BRACKETS" DEFAULT="LITERAL1"> <KEYWORDS> <KEYWORD3>set</KEYWORD3> </KEYWORDS> </RULES> This will highlight the brackets as KEYWORD1, the 'varname1' as LITERAL1, and the 'set' as KEYWORD3. Adjust the token types to taste. Slava PS: Will the mode be useful to the general public? If so, could you send it to me?
