It opened centered in the screen, so I moved it to the upper left corner and shutdown. When I reopened it, it was in the upper left corner just as I wanted. So on my laptop that did not have any version of jEdit installed it worked just as I wanted. On my desktop machine I had installed jEdit using a PPA, but when I saw how well the installer worked I decided to install the daily build in a temp directory. When I ran jEdit in the temp directory it displayed the same start up location behavior as my current copy of jEdit. At first I was confused because jEdit opened with the last file I had edited and all of my plugins loaded. I checked the version and it was the daily build but was using settings from my normal version. So this is not a valid test to see if the behavior has changed in the daily build. I have never tried to run two copies of jEdit on the same machine before so I don't know how to isolate the daily build from my normal one.
