Apparently there is some support for the more commonly used functions in subversion for 1.7 in the trunk version of svnkit. The final release won't be out for a couple more months. Alan, it would probably be a lot faster to use "svn info -R" and parse the filenames out of the output. "svn list" always goes to the repository, no working copy is even needed. "svn info" will tell you what you have locally.
