Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Alan Ezust (ezust) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: CodeBrowser: Should be a SideKick service Initial Comment: It would be nice if, instead of CodeBrowser using its own dockable, it could generate a SideKick tree, like the other SideKick plugins. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Shlomy Reinstein (shlomy) Date: 2006-10-09 14:38 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1477607 I currently don't have a developer access for the SVN repository. I can only check-out projects as anonymous. Don't I need developer access to add it to the repository? I've applied the fixes according to your comments -- namely support for build.xml like in CodeBrowser and fix for the ImageIcon exceptions. There are a couple more features I'd like to add to it, but I prefer to check it in as soon as possible. There is, however, one annoying behavior that makes me prefer CodeBrowser: Whenever I click on a tag in the tree of the new plugin, the tree is scrolled horizontally such that as much as possible of the tag I clicked is visible on screen. While this might be the desired behavior in some cases, for me this is usually annoying. I don't know if SideKick takes care of that (or perhaps it's a standard JTree behavior), I didn't have time to check it yet. But if this is controlled behavior, I'd like to either get rid of it or at least make it optional. Yes, please do check it into the subversion repository, under plugins/CtagsSideKick. I like it better than CodeBrowser already! --alan ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Shlomy Reinstein (shlomy) Date: 2006-10-09 02:45 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1477607 Hi, I created a new plugin named CtagsSideKick, which is more-or-less an enhanced version of CodeBrowser that uses SideKick instead of its own dockable. Unfortunately, emails I sent to jedit-devel nearly two weeks ago did not reach the list, so I got no responses about it, and therefore decided to create a new plugin. The new plugin is quite different from CodeBrowser although both use ctags to get the info. You can download it here: (with all the details about it) http://community.jedit.org/?q=node/view/3044 How do I proceed from here? (put the plugin in SVN?)
