"soft wrap" does not change your file, but just wraps long lines on the screen. "hard wrap" truly breaks lines by adding your OS's line separator string to the file: "\r\n" or "\n". In both cases the wrapping takes place before or after words, not within them. You must have some long lines containing no whitespace in which case jEdit is wrapping them at the end of the line even if the line is longer than your wrap margin. If you want to break them up, write a macro (see the "Text" macros that come with the standard install for a starting point). Andy (Can't help but add that if it is your coding practice to write long lines of code with no whitespace you might want to reconsider that ;-) |
