Another thought. Every edit mode would: - define its own token types (with domain specific names) in the mode specification - the edit mode maintainer would specify reasonable default syntax highlighting for those token types - the user would be able to change syntax highlighting per mode This way: - the user would have a chance to understand what the syntax highlighting means - when a mode delegates parts of a buffer to another mode, the syntax highlighting follows that mode // Magnus -----Original Message----- From: jed...@li...
