The Windows .exe installer refuses to install Jedit on my Windows XP = machine; it gives this error: "Setup unable to find a Java Development Kit or Java Runtime 1.3, or higher, installed. You must have installed at least JDK or JRE, 1.3 or higher to continue setup. Please install one from kttp://java.sun.com and restart setup." I have Sun's Java SDK installed (version 1.4.2_05). XP is up-to-date = with Service Pack 2. =20 Is there some argument I can give on the command line to tell the jedit installer where to find the Java developer's kit? I have tried placing = the installer in the \java\bin directory where the java executables reside, to no = avail. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Sincerely, --Peter Montague=20 |
