Hi, Eric, Thanks a lot for your reply. I moved all my files to a directory C:/MyDocuments and solved the problem. I like jEdit a lot so that I am willing to do so. However, in order for jEdit to be even better on Windows, I really hope that there are better solutions to this problem. Is it possible to change the working directory of jEdit according to the working buffer? It seems that Java doesn't have directly support for this. But I wonder if it is possible to do some tricks using things such as java.lang.System.setProperty("user.dir", "buffer_directory") to do it indirectly.
