Summary: TextArea has very noticeable flickering

Initial Comment:
I just downloaded pre10 this morning, prior to that I 
was using pre9.  I noticed that pre10 has an awful lot 
of very visible - and very distracting - flickering 
while I am scrolling through the text area.  It is 
especially pronounced when using the scrollbar, but 
also noticeable when using the arrow keys.

Just to verify, I relaunched pre9 on this machine and 
on another where I hadn't yet gone to pre10, and in 
both cases jEdit scrolled very smoothly, so there is 
definitely something different (at least in my 
instance) in pre10.

Per the new bug report macro (thanks, John), here is 
my info:
