Hi I started a small plugin to view TeX Winhelp files from jEdit. I extended this plugin, so that you can define mode-dependent help files. (tested under Win98; not optimal: for every mode-change saves the current mode settings) You can download the plugin here (source included): http://www.hartmath.org/archive/ContextHelp1_0.zip Simply insert the *.jar file in the plugins directory. You can configure the winhelp files in the Plugins options panel. Filenames starting with "file:" or "http:" are opened with the internal HelpViewer. If you installed the plugin, you should define a shortcut (like Ctrl+F1) for example. If you mark a word with a double-click and press Ctrl+F1 the Context HelpWindow for the word should appear. I think the 2 things missing for jEdit for CF users are context help for Coldfusion language and code insight (ie pop for methods and expressions / completion ) > > I confirmed this to some extent with a quick poll on the cf-linux mailing list (BTW good few linux users in Macromedia/ Allaire are using jEdit!!) > > There seem to be a few projects that would supply this functionality to jEdit with some modification. So my question is this , where should I start to look at these two areas, are there plugins with have this functionality and only need a settings file for ColdFusion ?? > > I think these additions would really add to the jEdit userbase and also allow some CF/Windows developers move to the Linux enviroment without feeling they are losing too much dump cfstudio > > Thanks > > Justin > > ___________________________________________________________________________ > Visit http://www.visto.com. > Find out how companies are linking mobile users to the > enterprise with Visto. > > -- > ----------------------------------------------- > jEdit Developers' List > jEd...@li... > http://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/jedit-devel -- Klaus Hartlage Math java project: http://www.hartmath.org Riding the Java wave: http://www.jsurfer.org |
