Hello Oliver, The PS and PDF fields are deprecated and have been replaced by the file field. What I do is use the description part of each file entry to describe what it is. For example, it may be 'paper', 'slides', 'demo video', 'talk transcript', 'homepage', etc. Then, when I right-click on the row's file icon I can choose which of these various things to open. If you really want to use the deprecated PS and PDF fields, you should be able to add them back by customizing the editor fields. Go to "Options -> Set up general fields". You specify one tab of the editor on each line. The line should start with the name of the tab, followed by a colon (:), and the fields it should contain, separated by semicolons (;). E.g., you may insert ps and pdf like so: General:keywords;crossref;file;_*ps;pdf*_;doi;url;citeseerurl;comment;owner;timestamp Cheers, Cody On 1/18/2013 4:59 AM, Tiebel, Oliver wrote: > > Hi, dear JabRef-users-community, > > I am trying to bring the linked PDF's show up with an icon in the "PDF column".
