Sorry for two naive question from a newcomer, but the manual did not seem to cover this. Often books come out in multiple editions that are variously designated, such as Original Edition, 1st Edition, Second Edition, revised edition, revised and enlarged edition, paper edition, etc., and they sometimes have different or multiple publishers for a given edition. I am unsure of the proper way to enter this information. If in Required Fields, Year, I put "Second edition, 1997", the BibTexRef comes out "AuthorSecondedition1997", which obviously won't do. Is it conventional just to enter the year of the edition that you wish to cite, and then in Optional Fields, Edition, enter all the specifics about different editions and years, even publishers. But then how does the edition information appear automatically in the BibTeX citation? Second, minor question: In Required Fields, Publisher, I have entered the city and publisher, such as "New York: Harper & Row". Is putting in the city here correct? Probably so, but just wanted to be sure. Haines Brown |
