The new tab in edit mode, "Deprecated Fields" cannot be removed or edited. As far as I can see, at least, using the Options/Customize and similar menus.
This happens in the BibLaTeX mode, in the normal mode, this tab is not
shown.
Aha, that's interesting to know.
Do you request that
a) this tab should only be shown if the deprecated fields contain values?
b) the fields of this tab should be configurable?
I think my ideal would be to have the tab switchable on or off. So I can
choose whether I want to know about deprecated fields. The editing area is
quite crowded already, so if I'm a biblatex user who doesn't want to have a
Depr. tab, it would be good to be able to turn it off.
a) Having the tab switched on, but only displaying if there are deprecated
fields would be very helpful! But this kind of job might also be thought
of as a batch job. While it's okay to deal with deprecated fields when
making a new entry, I suspect that a lot of people like me, who have
bibliographies that predate biblatex, would like to have a batch tool to
deal with deprecated fields. However, an editor with a good regex function
would probably be just as good.
b) Yes please.
Best, and many thanks,
Dominik

Isn't it possible to customize these tabs (remove some of them)? I find them annoying I have never used any of it: I pack everything I need into the Required and the Optional Fields 1. I find the Optional Fields 2; the Deprecated tab and even the abstract tabs useless.
