I try to user Alt+Print to capture a screenshot of a currently open application. this works perfectly with most applications. Two Applications don't work, however: Lotus Notes Client V7 and internet Explorer 8 do both capture a kind of "placeholder": a small window with the application's logo in the middle. Confusingly with internet Explorer only some web pages seem to be affected. I noted that this behaviour seems to affect the Windows taskbar too: If I move the mouse pointer over the open application the affected applications do not display a compressed preview image like all other applications do. Instead I get the same kind of "plcaeholder" representation, which is acceptable for the Windows Taskbar, but unacceptable for screenshot purposes.

Discussion

  • This is an axample of what I get if I use Alt-Print to capture an IE Website

In a few days the 1.0 pre release shoukd be available, I did have this issues myself and it "should" be fixed.
But I can't be 100% sure, please test and let us know how it works.

Just in case, let us know what version of Windows and Greenshot you are currently using? Could it be you use Citrix to start those applications? Are they elevated (UAC), running under a different user?

    Best wishes,
    Robin
